Patrick McGovern’s co-owner Pat Boemer said the pub’s planned Cabreeze™ would extend its patio season from three-plus months to eight or nine months a year while providing space for crowds from the nearby Xcel Energy Center.

With UV protection, a retractable roof, a 90-mph wind rating, and the ability to withstand heavy snow loads, the Cabreeze™ can hack whatever weather Minnesota can muster … It is affectionately known as the ‘snow globe’ and ‘Lake Elmo’s newest chapel.’

Lake Elmo Inn chef-owner John Schiltz said his Cabreeze™ enabled him to seat 1,000 extra diners during the holidays and 500 extra during Valentine’s weekend in his 35-seat patio, which he previously covered with a temporary tent. His family celebrated Christmas in the Cabreeze™, which he heats to operate year-round.

The main benefit of the Cabreeze™ is that I don’t have to study the weather every day before we open the patio. Our restaurant is so popular, if I gambled wrong with the weather, I’d have nowhere to put those people.

Year-to-date we’re up 12% and, in August, up more than 20% over last year which is the first time in 30 years of business we’ve had that high of monthly increase!

John Schiltz, owner of the Lake Elmo Inn, has always had good patio business, but with the addition of a Cabreeze™ structure, he can now cash in on this business year-round.

We heard about the ‘snow globe’ from John talking about it on the radio and came over for our first time from Minneapolis. We love it!
